The road is calling us, but first some work in Windsor

Things are busy here at Mermaid once more.  We have two companies rehearsing before heading out on the road for a combined 250 shows starting in just a few weeks.  The Treasured Stories by Eric Carle gang will perform here at the end of their tour next June, but we’re pleased to present  Guess How Much I Love You and I Love My Little Storybook as the season opener of the 2012/2013 Entertainment Series at our home theatre in Windsor.

Mermaid’s hour-long presentation is drawn from Sam McBratney’s touching bedtime story, Guess How Much I Love You. First published in 1995 and charmingly illustrated by Anita Jeram, the book is available in fifty languages, with more than 26.5 million copies in print worldwide.  A second adored story, I Love My Little Storybook by writer/illustrator Anita Jeram, features a whimsical menagerie of animals and imaginary creatures who celebrate the joy of reading.

The performance will take place Saturday, October 20 at 3:00pm.  This family show is suitable for children ages 3 and up.  Tickets are $14 ($12 students, seniors and children).

L’Aubergine’s “Burletta” – Nov. 3

After that, the next show on stage at MIPAC is Burletta from Quebec’s renowned L’Aubergine Theatre.  Created by artists from Quebec and Brazil, Burletta is the story of a restless urban clown’s family. In this big family, everyone is in competition to wow the audience with more and more outrageous tricks and stunts. How do they compete? With juggling, balancing acts, diabolo, gymnastics, acrobatics, dance, Chinese plates and music, of course!

Burletta will land on the MIPAC stage on Saturday, November 3 at 3:00pm.  This show is suitable for children of all ages and their families.  Tickets are also $14 and $12.

Tickets for all shows are available at, by phone at 1-888-311-9090, and in person at Windsor Home Hardware and all other Ticketpro outlets.

Have a great day!
