Friday Odds and Ends, Plus Reviews from #Seattle @SCTdotORG

This is Jason from Mermaid’s recently-tidied offices in Windsor…we’ve got quite a party to get ready for!  I just have a few tidbits to post for the weekend.

In the theatre this weekend, Windsor’s own Emily Gore Dance School presents their “Alice in Wonderland” this Saturday, June 2 at 2pm and 6pm.  Featuring dances from ballet to hip-hop, these local students are back at MIPAC for the 2nd time.   More information about that show is here.

Here are several reviews that we’ve received from our run at the Seattle Children’s Theatre for our show The Very Hungry Caterpillar and Other Eric Carle Favourites.  I apologize for getting them posted a little bit late, but we’re still in town through June 14.

Here’s one from Seattleschild.com.

Here’s one from Parentmap.com.

Local blogs Macaronikid and GrowingaBabyReviews have show reviews at the links embedded in this sentence.

The website info for the remaining Seattle dates, including ticket links, is here.

Finally, Mermaid’s 40th Birthday is coming up next week!  Everyone is invited to the party if they’re around.  Saturday, June 9 from 12-2pm at our facility in Windsor, NS.  Come for the hot dogs, stay for the puppets.

The party will wind up with the FINAL show of our premiere tour of Treasured Stories by Eric Carle.  The company is en route back to Nova Scotia now with their merry van of puppets.  I’ll leave you with a photo sent to us by the Stage Manager from our sit-down run in Chicago.  Featured in the photo are our own puppets, Eric Carle’s drawings, and all three intrepid company members.

Any former Mermaid alumni who are planning to come next week and haven’t yet contacted us, send us an email: puppets@mermaidtheatre.ns.ca
