The Best of Stephen Leacock’s writing, coming to MIPAC this Saturday.

Richard Donat

Richard Donat has had a long and distinguished career in theatre, TV, and film.  His resonating voice also appears in audiobooks, and as the narrator for two of Mermaid’s widely-traveled productions, “Swimmy, Frederick, and Inch by Inch,” and “Treasured Stories by Eric Carle.”  He also plays Vince in the SyFy TV series “Haven,” which is filmed in Nova Scotia.

He also will be bringing his one-man show, a collection of Stephen Leacock‘s funniest sketches and stories, to the MIPAC stage in Windsor this weekend (Saturday, April 7, 2012).  Leacock was one of the most widely read Canadian authors in the first part of the 20th century, and his best known work, Sunshine Sketches of a Little Town, celebrates the 100th anniversary of its publication this year.

Tickets are 2 for $15, and are available at Moe’s Music, 798-5565.  Bring a friend out for a very reasonably priced evening of theatre.
